Seo Eun Kim - Early Works

Cut, cut, cut. Sew, sew, sew. As if I'm making a monster of my very own. Sometimes it looks like nothing, sometimes it looks like it will come alive. Paint is piped, sculpted, and peeled to suture patches of sinews and innards together. Through it, flesh is reorganized over and over again, to search for another set of language to articulate mortality. The jumbled and mashed anatomy reveals, so viscerally, the simple organic matters that constructs us.  Seo Eun Kim, 2023
